[comp.sys.intel] current 486 rev, and Intel recall policy

kaleb@thyme.jpl.nasa.gov (Kaleb Keithley ) (10/20/90)

Anyone know what the current 486 rev. is, C0, B6, or B5?
What are the differences?

Was it a rumor, or was Intel really replacing cpus due to defects in
the mask; if they were, are they still doing that? How would I go
about getting the current rev. if in fact they are doing this?

Printed on the bottom of my 486 are the numbers:
99393378CD
GB5 51
^^ Am I being too presumptious when I assume that this means rev. B5.
