From: Tom Perrine <tom@LOGICON.ARPA> Greetings from the Stone Age!! I am looking for two things: Is anyone else running Version 6 or PWB Unix? Does anyone have a TCP for either of these machines?? Tom Perrine [tom@LOGICON.ARPA]

One thing Mike didn't mention is that the BRL/JHU PDP-11 UNIX has the famous BRL UNIX System V emulation supplied as its default environment, in addition to a 7th Edition UNIX environment and a strange local environment eveolved from the 6th Edition. It sure is nice to develop software on the PDP-11 then move it to the VAX and just say "make" to get the VAX version. Let's hear it for a common environment.

We have no kind of TCP running on any machine, though we plan someday to maybe bring it up under 2.9, since someone apparently has the fixes to the 2.9 TCP/IP which doesn't work as distributed (convenient, isn't it?). We do have a local net running some kind of UDP protocol, I think (I don't know too much about it). Let me know if we can be of any help. -Eric Feigenson Intermetrics, Inc. {harpo, ima, ihnp4}!inmet!ericf
