I have been porting tools which use 'sh' functions, and due to the lack of a '#!/bin/shV' mechanism, I have installed /bin/shV as /bin/sh. The machine appears to work fine in everyway except for a few shell scripts where I get the message: xxxxx: no stack space I've been able to fix this for a few tools by using '/usr/bin/runbig', but with no documentation on it I don't understand how/why this helps. Is my problem that 'shV' should be compiled with a large/hugh model ? Am I doomed to curse the '286 ? don't exist ? These tools work on Ultrix 1.2+2.0, Sun 3.2, Uniplus V.2 and BSD 4.2 w/system V.2 sh, so they should work on Xenix also ... Any help would be appreciated. I eventually want to write all of this in C, but I'd hate to be forced into doing it for a '286! -- Name....: Tan Bronson Company.: Microvation Consultants US Mail.: 20 Sperry Rd Madison, CT 06443 (20)-421-5061 UUCP....: ...{decvax!genrad!teddy,seismo!yale}!fu@fasfasf
