I am having problems with my Microport V/AT ver 2.2 talking to other unix machines. I have followed closely the documentation instructions: editing L.sys, L-devices, USERFILE, /etc/passwd, /etc/inittab. But still am having problems. Initially, I was successful in one-way communication: from my V/AT to another machine(MASSCOMP 5500 running RTU version ???). I was uucp'ing files, and sending mail. I wanted more, so I put out a getty on /dev/ttyM1 edited the target machine's files: /etc/passwd,USERFILE,etc... Now nothing works: I can't send mail to the target machine, and the target machine gives me a DIAL FAILED when I do a uustat -m. I realize this is not a trivial problem, and have probably not included enough information, but ANY help will be appreciated... Thanks...!!! -- ---> ...cit-vax!elroy!smeagol!jplgodo!chas2!carlos Carlos Carrion Space Flight Operations Center Jet Propulsion Laboratory MS 301/250D, Pasadena, CA 91109
