peter@citcom.UUCP (09/16/87)

"Thank you for purchasing the SCO xenix development system which
now includes our new SCO Computer Graphics Interface (SCO CGI)
at no extra cost. If you plan to develop graphics applications
which require the Enhanced Graphics Adapter or High Resolution Computer
Graphics Adapter (CGABW), we will soon release drivers for these
adapters that support SCO CGI. Meanwhile, you can start developing
your applications right now, and be able to test them as soon as we
send the drivers-free of charge. To ensure that you receive your
drivers package as soon as it is available, please complete and
return this card today. Sincerely, The Santa Cruz Operation"

In response to my own article, let me point out that SCO has been
working hard on this problem. Since having posted the above article
and having called my salesperson to say we felt misled, we have
gotten a call every day on the phone concerning getting this missing
driver. To make a long, drawn-out story short, let me summarize
and say that we will be testing the CGI using the EGA board in
inferior CGA mode, and following beta testing by SCO, we will be
looking to get the complete product from SCO in the middle of
November.

They told me last week that it would start shipping Nov. 30th. Maybe
by Christmas.
