I've been running news 2.11 straight off the shelf for almost a year
now with no problems under Microport System V/AT. The news software
is fine and wonderful.  Get 2.11, patch level 8. (Careful with some
of the later patches as others have mentioned problems with subsequent
patches).

Not quite sure how to construe this comment, but as a 286 owner, and
a user of Microport System V/AT 2.3, it worries me. Don't let 
Microsoft have all the fun (and marketshare) :-) with OS/2!
BTW, IBM seems to have a little investment in the 286 chip with
their new line of machines. :-)
