I just wanted to drop a quick "thanks!" to all the people in this group who've helped me solve problems I've had with memory models on the SCO cc compiler. I abandoned the 8086 box I was using and ported my code to a '286 box last night. It was wonderful. I sent 13,000+ lines of code, consisting of 115 library functions, 18 "major" functions, and 45 utilities from a Motorola 68000 box to a PC/AT clone with a total of only 23 bytes of changes to the Makefile. All I had to do was set -Mm for the middle memory model and add -LARGE to a couple of routines that did the "out of heap space" shuffle. I didn't even have to change any C source code (which suprised me). Thanks again!! This portability caca is pretty hip!!
