I am trying to get a Xenix/386 system up, and am having a
wierd problem with the 1st serial port. Sometimes when I boot
the system sees 1 port on COM1, while other times it sees "ARNET
board with 8 ports." When it thinks it has an ARNET board it
promptly make the modem active, but doesn't start a getty. Thus
the modem answers but doesn't connect.
If I boot DOS first and reboot it works correctly, while is I
reboot using the reboot command it never seems to work right,
and if I use haltsys and then reboot manually, it works about
1/3 of the time.
If anyone has an idea I'd love to hear it. The 2nd port
sometimes has the same problem, but often come up correctly when
the 1st port is incorrect.
