jl42+@andrew.cmu.edu (Jay Mathew Libove) (12/03/87)
Background: OS 2.2.1 of SCO Xenix SysV/286, Development System rel 2.1.4.
I'm trying to get umoria and pttys and the session program to work.
Umoria: compiles fine, but upon linking stops with error code
cc: Exit status 149
*** Error code -107
on
/bin/ld: Segment size exceeds 64K
Input file: treasure2.o(treasrure2.c) pos 8e: Record type: 98
I compiled everything with -Ml2 -SEG 1024 -O
and I linked with the same.
Can somebody tell me what exactly is the problem? (Is it a too large data
structure? Is it possible to make the compiler swallow it? Should I give
up? etc..)
Next:
Pseudo ttys are required for the SysV "session" program - the equivalent
of the BSD "script" command, which copies everything that a terminal gets
or sends to a file. I have the ptydriver code that was sent over the
net a couple of months ago, but I do not know how to configure it for
a SCO Xenix system, and how to install it.
Can someone please tell me what to do to get ptydriver working on my
machine?
Thanks!!!!!!! (in advance!)
