I finally got around to upgrading to XENIX 2.2.0 from 2.1.3, and am beginning to regret it. I use uucp extensively in transferring files back and forth between various systems. Starting with the 2.2.0 distribution of uucico @(#) cico 1.3 86/12/18, uucp has failed to transfer a single file. Soon after any transfer is started, it is aborted (according to LOGFILE) because: USERFILE: access denied () It took a while to track down, but it appears that: uucp file system!~ is no longer valid. The 2.2.0 uucico doesn't seem to recognize ~ as a valid path (2.1.3 accepted this). It is now necessary to use ~uucp as the destination path. Has anyone else run into this problem? Is it a bug with 2.1.3, or 2.2.0? Is there a patch available? P.S. I found the error message to extremely un-informative.
