[comp.unix.xenix] Arnet Multiport boards

tyager@mkunix.DEC.COM (Tom Yager) (03/15/88)

I'm running under SCO '386 v2.2. I just spotted a product announcement for a
board from Arnet called the "Modular Multiport," an 8-port board which uses
modular connectors and they claim it to be compatible with my version of
Xenix. The retail price is $595, which seems reasonable, but I'm wondering
if anyone has experience with other Arnet products under Xenix.

Responses via Email, please. I'll summarize the responses. If anyone has a
favorite multiport board in this price range, please let me know. Thanks,
all. (TY)

Well,

We got The smart (80188) Digiboard 8port board for less than $1000.00
and and run it on a Contel (Wyse) 286 AT and it is fantastic! We run 4
terminals at 19.2 and three printers and I've NEVER seen any degradation of
performance due to character I/O. (Now if we could only get rid of that
ST506 HD controller...)

I would HIGHLEY recommend this product.
