I have an altos 986T (T systems are different than non-T systems), running Xenix 3.0C. Recently i added a second hard disk. No problems there, the installation went perfectly and everything runs fine. The problem is that i can not figure out how to backup/restore the second disk to/from my streaming tape. The menu based utilities included with my system only have options for the primary disk. These utilities are scripts and i have followed the primary disk backup/restore down to where i know that the program, archive, does the actual backup, and the program, recover, does the actual restore. My problem is that i can find no documentation on how either of these two programs work and what arguments they need. I have made educated guesses based on the commands for the primary drive but nothing seems to make it through an entire backup/restore cycle. If you know how to make these program go, or if you have a 586T or 986T with 2 disk drives and are backing up both drives i would greatly appreciate hearing from you, disk space on my first drive is critical and i can't start using the second drive until i can back it up. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. have a nice day, terry b rhodes rtech!unix::terryr, 415-671-9775 (home), 415-748-3565 (work)
