Hardware: Sperry IT, CDC 40 MB disk, 1Mb RAM on Motherboard, AST Multi-function card w/ 1.5Mb RAM. Sperry Parallel/Serial board. The system ran perfectly for over 2 years. Then it began to crash on large print jobs with a trap in system error message with a bunch of registers dumped. I have swapped every major plug in board with no better results. I tested the parallel ports with "cat >> /dev/lp1" with proper results, but when I tested "cat >> /dev/lp0" the system returned a "stray interrupt" error message for every character typed. The system is otherwise perfect, but frequent crashes are too hard to take. Is it possible the interrup controller on the system board is shot? Mark T.
