I have a problem. We got a Wyse AT running SCO xenix 286 2.2.1 with a Digiboard intellegent 8 port card and three Wyse-60 terminals. The terminals and Xenix are configured to speak at 19.2 KB. I didn't change anything from the factory configuration on or in the multiport device or on the terminals, except the baud rate on Xenix and on the terminals. the problem: Sometimes when the terminals aren't in use (user has logged off), you can't get the login prompt no matter what you try. Use to be that cycling the power on the terminals would help. Then we tried just setting-up (cntrl-shift select) to get a login. Sometimes you'll do all of that and then about a minute later you'll get the login prompt. We also grounded the cable's sheilding to the terminal. But now nothing (not even shutting down the system and bringing it back up again) will emit a login on this terminal. And it all seems to happen so randomly... Seems like the connection is dropped and somthing won't let it connect again. These terminals turn their video off after ten minutes of inactivity. We've also swapped terminals from non-working lines to working ones and the terminals work fine on these lines. Could it be that the terminal is sending some sort of hang-up signal when it isn't supposed to? Or not sending the appropriate connect signal or dropping DTR and Xenix isn't seeing it rased or something? All I know is that the terminals work fine when your logged on. It's just after you log off and they aren't in use for a while, they go into this mode where you can't get a login prompt.
