As i understand it, DST is beginning early this year, specifically this sunday. Am i right that Xenix will get it wrong, and also that if i compensate by changing the clock, i'll have to do so again in a month? -j Rational Technologies, Inc. -- Jesse Levine BBS: Atlantic Palisades: 718-238-7855 UUCP: ...!phri!bc-cis!lldev!levine ...!uunet!pwcmrd!skipnyc!atpal!levine CIS: 71231,177 MCI: 341-3917

This was beaten to death in comp.std.unix (or something like that) last year. It's a problem in UNIX in general, and AT&T/Sun may fix it if they feel like it. I got disgusted and kept all my machines on standard time last year. You can just fiddle the TZ value, all internal times are in GMT (UCT), so it's only the way they're printed. I use "EST5" for TZ, but you can use "EDT4" or whatever. You can change this in /etc/default/login. -- bill davidsen (wedu@ge-crd.arpa) {uunet | philabs | seismo}!steinmetz!crdos1!davidsen "Stupidity, like virtue, is its own reward" -me
