[comp.unix.xenix] Mush 6.0 problems

john@jclyde.UUCP (John B. Meaders Jr.) (04/18/88)

Has anyone tried to compile the recently posted mush sources. I have and
got some errors with main.c. My setup is an AT clone running SCO Release
2.1.3. These are the errors (the warnings about redefines I have left out,
these are the fatal ones):

main.c(59) : error 1: newline in constant
main.c(61) : error 1: newline in constant
main.c(231) : error 1: newline in constant

Any help would be appreciated, especially from people who have managed to
get it running under 2.1.3.

Try this:

1) In makefile change LIBDIR if needed. Move the cmd_help file and
create Mail.rc. Set the delivery agent as wanted. I used rmail, but it's
the one from smail on my system. For pre 2.2 remove -DUSG from the
compile flags. Remove METOO. Change -Mle to -M2le.

2) Hand compile misc.c with no opt and LARGE. Compile strings.h with
LARGE and you can use -O if you want.

3) Type make and go get coffee. I've only had it up for about six hours,
but it seems to work. The only reason I gave up on 5.7 is that it barfs
(seg. violation) on really long addresses, which are normal for me.

I've run about 60 messages thru it so far without any problems.

If that doesn't get you up I'll send you a diff of my files.
