[comp.unix.xenix] NetHack: Possible monster BUG??

edwin@gpu.utcs.toronto.edu (Edwin Allum) (04/22/88)

Is there a bug in Nethack 2.3 under SCO XENIX 286 2.2.
The games core dumps due to a segmentation violation after entering a
room full of Orcs and sometimes a room may have only one monster and
all of a sudden the room is full of Orcs after which it core dumps.

Anyone else have this problem??
Any fixes out there as yet??
If not I guess I will have to leave until next month and fix it myself.

I have encountered a segmentation violation error on Nethack version 2.2
while wearing a ring of conflict. My chracter was standing in a treasure
zoo, and all the monsters in the room except for two dragons were dead.
The two dragons were standing next to each other after a third dragon had
been killed, and my character, a wizard, stood a few spaces away. After
two moves, the two dragons moved _away_ from each other and I received the
segmentation violation error.
