I am arranging to get a news feed from a machine which only speaks 7-bit words. Only incoming connections to this machine are allowed. I know that I could change the gettydefs entry to allow for 7 bit, even parity if they allowed outgoing calls, but they don't. Does anyone know how to set up uucp/uucico to render 7 bit outgoing connections? Thanks. (ty) -- Tom Yager, Digital Ultrix Support ("It MUST be the hardware!") Sorry, but the standard SCO-UUCP only supports the so called 'g' protocol, which won't run on 7bit paths. Two solutions: a) Find out, WHY you can use only 7 bits (are you using an X.25 line ?) and fix or bypass it ... b) Get the source of HDB-UUCP or BSD-UUCP from "anwhere" ... Both include either the 'f' or 'k' protocol, which will work fine even on 7 bit paths.
