Well, I got another kernel panic, similar circumstances. The system again is SCO Xenix SysV/286 v2.2.1, with the PD PTYdriver installed. On: % tar cf - . | compress | bundle /dev/fd096ds15 1200k 24k it wrote some to the disk, then panic'ed as: TRAP 000C in SYSTEM ax=0014 bx=0324 cx=0004 dx=0064 si=0000 di=3FAD bp=0332 fl=0246 uds=0018 es=0020 pc=0040:1587 ksp=03F2 ss:sp=0058:0328 panic: stack fault then though it printed the message about powering down or rebooting the machine hang completely, so that I had to power cycle. I'd really like to know what it is in either the floppy driver, pipe mechanism, or god only knows what else, that is causing these failures.
