[comp.unix.xenix] Disk Drive benchmarks

jayen@mulga.oz (Jayen Vaghani) (05/09/88)

I keep reading about these Coretest benchmarks. What are they, and how can I
get hold of them. I have seen benchmark programs from Core International
running under MS-DOS but have no idea how where they come from.

Thanks, Jayen.

Coretest is a benchmark written by Core International to compare the
performance of there drives to others. It's public domain. Available
on Dos BBS boards. Latest version is 2.7. I've tryed it on the 386
Tandy machines here at work and it didn't distory the operating system.
You have to boot under dos. By the way if anyone has a Core drive that
dosn't work I would be glad to take it off your hands.

P.S I quote me that it won't distory your unix op system.
If anyone runs it please post the results along with
system configuration and I post the results.

Do they have BBSes in Australia? I got my Coretests from Compuserve,
but they should be available on any reasonably well-stocked BBS. If you
are not able to get CORETEST, let me know by mail, and I will email you
a copy of the latest one I have.
