[comp.unix.xenix] Tape Drive Blues

mikef@wynalda.UUCP (Mike Faber) (07/27/88)

We've got more troubles than a moose in a hawaiin beach party. We have
an Archive Scorpian tape drive sold to us by Concensus Corp. to run
under the 286 System V driver. We have upgraded to 386 Xenix (on an
AMI 386 computer,) and we can get the drive to reset (using tape reset),
but it will not reten, write, or read. Mkdev tape creates the devices
xct0 rct0 nrct0 rct2 & nrct2. Can our tape drive be used under 386
Xenix? We are currently wasting most of a day (every other day) for me
to make a backup of our data and programs. Can anybody help us?
Thank You. Please reply via mail, I cant read news from where I am
very often.
