I have a requirement to develop a dial-up application which will support touch-tone input with audio response. I would like to find a card for the 386-AT that will interface to Xenix to provide these capabilities from a C program. Also acceptable would be an external unit that would interface over an asynchronous line to provide the same capabilities. I've already looked at DecTalk, but I am hoping to find a lower cost solution (DecTalk is around $4000). If anyone knows about these type of devices, please send me E-mail. I'll post any results to the net... Thanks, Bryan Schacht UVC Corp. hplabs!felix!tgate!bryan

There are a couple of these boards (including one in a Circuit Celler article in Byte a few years back). The most popular one is the "Watson" board. The company that makes it is called Natural Microsystems. The company that did this is C oriented, so you may be able to avoid a lot of Watson-specific programming. -Ron
