[comp.unix.xenix] csh says my program is "too big"

david@bdt.UUCP (David Beckemeyer) (08/04/88)

I've got some application software that I have been porting to various
flavors of **IX systems. I'm using a friends SCO Xenix 286 system to
test SCO compatibility. The code compiles large model fine but we've
stumbled across this strange error message from the shell when we try
to run the executable. I'm not a Xenix guru at all and my frind is
not too experienced with software development under SCO either. I do
not understand the problem. The program is not very big, only about
215K. The code segment is ~145K, data is ~36K, and bss is ~34K. We
fiddled around with the kernel process parameters but nothing changes.
We have been unable to locate this error message in any of the docs.

So far this application compiles and runs on VAX/4.3BSD, VAX/Ultrix, Sun/4.3
Microport System V/AT, MS-DOS/Microsoft C, Atari ST/Mark Williams C.
This is the strangest error message. How can they call this UNIX?
