We recently installed a Mountain Filesafe Cartrige tape on a PC/AT Sco 2.2.0 Xenix system. We're using the Sco CT driver (mkdev tape). There seems to be a problem with the drive rewinding at the end of a tape session (not EOT, but after the last file is written). The CT driver gives a message, like "ct command error (n,n)" and tar hangs, with all interrupts disabled. The program terminates after you eject the cartrige from the drive. I'm asuming this is a rewinding problem because subsequent attempts to read the tape require rewinding first. With the exception of the above problem, the tape drive appears to be healthy. We can backup, list and restore files without incident. Any ideas if this is a driver problem, or should I be thinking about returning the drive and/or interface board as defective ? BTW- the interface is an Everex (Wangtek-type according to Mountain). Thanks for in advance any assistance.
