At one time I had Chuck Forsberg's rz/sz programs running under SCO XENIX 286 without a hitch. When he posted a new version to alt.sources several months back, I tried to upgrade. It didn't work, and every since I haven't been able to get back to a working copy. (Flames about preserving old versions when upgrading are not desired -- but deserved.) I have tried the following versions of "rz": #define VERSION "1.14 01-15-87" #define VERSION "1.26 08-21-87" #define VERSION "1.29 03-08-88" I am totally confused. At one time I had this thing running without a hitch, but now rz either fails to start up the transfer or it fails on every packet. My top three hypothesis are: (1) Out of the multitude of versions of rz, there is only one which works with SCO XENIX 286. (2) I need to compile it some other way than just "make xenix". (3) My modem line configuration is messed up, and I need to do a stty before invoking the transfer. Can anybody out there help me with this quandry? Please mail, and I will summarize if there is interest. Thanks. -- Chip Rosenthal chip@vector.UUCP | I've been a wizard since my childhood. Try the /*% line at the beginning of rz.c. This compiles for 286
Xenix regardless of whether the compiler is 286 or 386 Xenix.
I normally use the 386 compiled version because it is slightly
faster, but I also check the 286 compiled version from time to time,
including just now. This testing is under 386 Xenix, I don't run
the brain-segmented(;)) version any more.

What stty commands have been given? I run my serial getty ports at
either 7e or 8n.
The current released version is always available on TeleGodzilla,
but I haven't heard of this particular problem before.
