I have a modified version of GNU (pd) tar that will read SCO Xenix 286 disks under MSDOS. This version takes the straight Xenix disks, not converted versions made with dosformat/doscp. Although the program is at a fully usable level and allows me to transfer files from Xenix to MSDOS without a conversion stage and without having to maintain two sets of disks in different formats, it could use a more thorough exercising. Of course none of the weak areas are in my code. -:) If anyone would like a copy to play with, please make a request to one of the addresses below. Please provide your own return e-mail address in uucp form, if possible. I can supply either the source codes (in shar format) or the executable (uuencode format) or both. The source codes are fairly specific to Borland's Turbo C version 1.0. If you can accept compressed files, please so indicate. I have zoo, arc, pack, and compress. Earl H.
