Hey, I've seen that.  Your modem is generating too many interrupts
for a ring detect.  One un-elegant solution is to find the pin on
the UART corresponding to ring detect and take it out of the socket
(perhaps you should really ground it).

This works because MS-DOS doesn't know !@#$ about interrupts and
Xenix doesn't have packages that wait for Ring Detect to answer
the phone.	(At least I think that's the reason.)
