On my SCO Xenix 286 v2.2.1 system, /usr/lib/uucp/uucico will print the error AERROR - (nw == ns) BAD WRITE @errno=xx (where xx is a random integer) when it is executed and the line it chooses to attempt to dial out on is already locked by another process (unimportant what the process is; the lock file seems to be all that is necessary); on SCO Xenix 2.2.1 UUCP locks are kept in /usr/spool/uucp/LCK..ttyXX. Why do I get this error (and what precisely does it mean) in such a normal circumstance? It almost seems as though a debugging option was compiled in? Of course, SCO didn't see it fit to provide sources, so I can't check...
