I just bought a NEC Monograph monitor to replace my old monochrome monitor which used a Hercules graphics card to drive it. I ran the IBM Diagnostics disk to change the set-up to CGA which it emulates. When I bought DOS up everything is great. When I try to boot Xenix, the boot program seems to read (as usual) from the boot hard disk and then stops after the usual time and instead of booting just freezes and emits a steady tone from the speaker. I have to power down at this point as the AT is frozen. Can the NEC Monograph be interfaced to Xenix? What should I do...? I am running IBM Xenix 2.0 on a model 339 AT. I ran the NEC diagnostics as well as the IBM diagnostics and nothing unexpected came up.
