Help ! - looking for public domain or commerical bulletin board
or conferencing software to run on a trs 16b (40 meg) with tandy
version of xenix. Found some useful scripts in DDJ but prefer a
full-featured program.

You can get PD versions of UNaXcess, XBBS or Citadel, all of which run
under Xenix/286 and 386. I assume that they will run on the 16b version
as well, since they don't do anything really exotic.

UNaXcess works on the 16/6000s. I ran it on my machine for about 9 months.
It has a few quirks I didn't like, that probably could be patched. I looked
at the XBBS but there are a lot of System V things that need to be changed to
run on the 16's System III derived Xenix. It depends on what you need/expect
of a system - and I found after running a TBBS in a Z80 environment for years
that I didn't like the UA. If you start getting many messages on it, and
delete lower numbered messages it gets slow.
Brandon Alberry - moderator of one of the comp.sources groups here is the
author. He could answer more questions. As for me - I became a usenet node.

The UnaXcess bbs runs on the Tandy 4000 and 6000 machines. I believe
the author is Braddon Alberry, the keeper of the comp.sources.misc
archives [alberry@ncoast I think].

There is a Magpie available for Tandy Xenix. You can pick it up with a
blind UUCP poll to "magpie" at 212-420-0527 (NYC). Login as "nuucp" and
request the file /prog/nuucp/Mag68k.tar.Z.
