A while ago there was a discussion about SCO Xenix system hang. At our site we run Sco Xenix V 386 (2.2.2) on an Olivetti M380. We have had similar problems like the ones described. Suddenly, you can hit returns and they are echoed on the screen, but no shell prompt will appear. Or you can give a command, but get no answer. Not sure if it has anything to do with IO bound or compute bound processes, neither with memory problems.
