We have a rather odd need to control the rs-232 lines on a serial port on xenix. In order to control the device that is connected to the port it is necessary to both talk on the serial lines, control the DTR and RTS, and test the state of the CD and CTS lines. The handshaking lines DO NOT OBEY RS-232 standard. In fact it is necessary to rase and lower RTS three times before doing anything else. In HP-UX and ULTRIX and even FOR:PRO this is possible, but SCO XENIX does not have any information in the ioctl.h files to make us believe that this is possible. Do we have to write a driver for the serial port? Has someone already written a driver? Do we just have to get the info out of SCO? The hardware is a PS2/80 (the customer wanted this, not us) but we would like a general answer if that is possible. We think that all we need are the ioctl parameters for setting and getting modem control states and the mask values for the lines. Any help will be appreciated.
