[comp.unix.xenix] VP/ix- more problems!!

jeffh@hplsla.HP.COM (Jeff Harrell) (01/16/89)

I removed the dos partition from my hard drive
and installed my dos applications on the Xenix
file system. SCO recommends you install your
dos applications on the XENIX file system.

Installing the applications works just fine-
it's RUNNING them that gives you no end of trubble!

example:
pfs:First Choice- Works just fine in VP/ix
when it's installed on a dos partition. But,
when it's on the xenix partition you cannot
re-store any files. If you get an existing
file edit it and then save your work you
get a file access error and the file is GONE!

I've checked the file permissions and THAT'S NOT THE PROBLEM.
If anyone from SCO is listening- don't recomend something
that doesn't work...
