[comp.unix.xenix] diff source for xenix

tony@ajfcal.UUCP (Tony Field) (01/17/89)

I am a bit confused by the *diff* file format used in various postings.
My Xenix 2.2.3 version of diff does not seem to support the "common"
format. I have the following questions?

1. Is SCO diff compatible with the diff file format in postings?

2. Can the diff files in the postings be automatically applied?

3. Is the Xenix diff -e option (which applies diff by use of ed)
a commonly available option (i.e. can I post diff using this option
and can other people use the diffs)?

4. If the Xenix diff is "non-standard", is there a public domain version
of diff that I can use?

   Thanks for the assistance.... tony..
