I need to surpress the login banner when on uucp logins under Xenix 286. I though putting .hushlogin in the home directory of the account would work, but it doesn't have any effect. Does anyone know the correct way to do this? Thanks, Rich Skrenta

How about deleting /etc/motd and incorporating your motd into /etc/profile? Frank. -- *=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=* Frank I.
