Does anyone out there know if Xwindows is available for the paradise VGA+ card. I have a 386/25MHz AT and I am thinking of buying SCO XEXIX 386 but I want the OS that I get to support Xwindows. If SCO supports the vga+ and if there is a Xwindows package available (preferably for the 800x600 mode) I will probably get it. I just don't wnat to spend my money on XENIX if I won't be able to do any of my X programming with it. Any help is VERY MUCH appreciated. Picard: On screen. Data: Sorry captain, the Xserver has crashed.

I've been told that SCO's X windows for Xenix 386 will support EGA and VGA (I think they said CGA as well, but I can't remember). I'd doubt that in the first release it would support any of the funky non-standard VGA modes some cards may do. Given SCO's previous willingness to hack up new device drivers I wouldn't be surprised if they supported this sort of thing later, though. [This is only idle speculation on my part] Apparently it's supposed to be available sometime in 1st quarter, but a sales person at SCO told me not to expect it till April, at least. - john romkey UUCP: romkey@asylum.sf.ca.us Internet: romkey@xx.lcs.mit.edu "The invention must not be a nuclear weapon; such inventions aren't patentable because of a special statue.
