[comp.unix.xenix] Meta key support for SCO Xenix 2.3

john@jetson.UPMA.MD.US (John Owens) (02/24/89)

Hello, all. A few months ago I posted a replacement for
/usr/lib/keyboard/keys which, in conjuction with the line

(setq meta-flag t)

in emacs/lisp/term/ansi.el, would allow the Alt key to be used as a
meta key on 386AT systems (at least). Apparently, the keys file has
changed somewhat for 2.3, so here's a new version of the file that's
reported to work.

	Enjoy!

Thanks for the help. I did as you said, comparing the files, and I
did find three differences:
	1) use lctrl instead of ctrl
	2) use lalt instead of alt
	3) a line which had null's was replaced with ns's
I'm not sure if all the changes were necessary, but here is a file
which works.

Thanks again,
Adnan

There is a fix from SCO to get the old format to work. It's free and costs
nothin'.
