Well, after the long struggle, (can ya hear them violins?) the trouble we've been having with the 386 box has been resolved. Somebody on the net suggested the BIOS might be the trouble (ie the pheonix BIOS). Turns out to be the case: we now have the AMI bios, and the machine is humming along nicely now. For those interested, here is the configuration now: Intel 386 motherboard, 25 Mhz cpu 4 Meg Ram 250 Meg Priam hard drive (ESDI) 4 serial ports Monochrome console (monitor....) The drive is configured as having half the number of cylinders but twice the heads as it really does. The Priam BIOS on board the DTC controller looks after converting the XENIX addresses to physical addresses. The machine has been up for two days, and I hope to have it on line as the 'new' aimed by the weekend. To all those who sent their suggestions via mail or news: Thanks! Cheers, Nick. -- Nick Pemberton UUCP: !{utzoo, utai}!lsuc!aimed!nick AIM, Inc Bus: (416) 429-4913 Home: (416) 690-0647
