I was trying to install SCO 2.3.1 the other day, and as the system booted up from the diskette, it came up with a banner, and a few seconds later, the screen flickered and I had to abort the installation. The PC was a PC-386 clone with a Video-7 VGA/EGA card, and a ITT EGA monitor with a 40MB Seagate drive. The color was OK under DOS. Did I mis-adjust some jumpers on the graphic card or did I miss a driver somewhere? Any help/hints on this would be appreciated. When I did my initial installation on the 386, I had a problem with the screen (it was monchrome with a generic mono video card) flickering intermitently. A simple trip to my clone dealer produced another manufacturer's video card, and my problem went away. I'm still using the same card 2 years later. I doubt that you have a driver problem; you may have mis-set a jumper (you'll have to check your specific docs for that), but in my case it was simply a card that would have worked fine in a 4.77 mhz xt, but should never have been installed (by the clone-maker) in a 20mhz 386. (They don't use that card any more.) --ed {edhew@egvideo.uucp -or- ....uunet!watmath!egvideo!edhew}
