I just reinstalled my xenix, to 2.3. I was running 2.2.2 and my Hayes
SmartModem 2400B was working great. Now I get garbage on the screen, and
must issue "stty istrip </dev/tty2A" to get the darned thing to work (6 hours
or experiments determined this). Have I done something wrong or is there
something I failed to do during installation, or is there a known bug in
cu/ct ?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

This was done so that 8-bit characters could be recieved. It sounds like the site your calling uses 7 data bits with parity. You can use the -e and -o options to cu to get 7 data bits, even and odd parity, respectively. Ross Oliver Technical Support The Santa Cruz Operation
