[comp.unix.xenix] questions: prompt in csh, multiple OS, tape drive

mhlevy@sbee.sunysb.edu (Mark Levy) (03/23/89)

Hi there... I have 3 questions:

a) Is there a way to display the pwd in the prompt in the XENIX C shell? I
know how to do it in the "real" bsd csh, but I can't get it to work on xenix

b) Is there any way to have 3 residen OS's on my hard disk. I now have XENIX
and DOS, but I will be getting a copy of ENIX to evaluate in the next few
weeks, and while I could unload XENIX from my hard drive, I would rather
just choose something like " unix(49) " ( I know the min dev # is wrong, it's
just for demo purposes).

c) I own an an external CMS tape drive (60 MB) that works flawlessly in XENIX
(it uses the long archive card). The problem is that I cant get the darn thing
to work wit hthe SYTOS software supplied by CMS for DOS. It just hangs. Does
anybody have a good recomendation for what to do, or who to call. I think that
CMS sent me the wrong software. And I thought connecting devices to dos was
supposed to be easier that to XENIX... HA!!!

Thank you in advance,
Mark
