SYSTEM: Tandy 6000hd, Xenix 3.0, dev kit v1.3.x I am trying to set up a uucp node. I have someone who is willing to give me a feed provided he doesn't have to do any actual work (i.e. I must give him explicit instructions for what needs to be done). The connection is to be via modem, probably passing through a micom switch. The problem is that the only docs for uucp that came with then 6000 dev. kit are the man pages for uucp, uux, etc... Does anyone know where I can buy/read/ftp docs on installing uucp? Send mail I'll summarize. -- "Use the Source Luke."

Does anyone know where I can >buy/read/ftp docs on installing uucp? I have found an excellant book that gives specifics on HDB and standard uucp connections, files, and quirks. I refer to it constantly. I purchased it from: Uni-Ops Books 195 Mountain View Road Boonville, Cal 95415-0650 (707) 895-2050 The Book is: UNIX Communications Bart Anderson, Bryan Costales, & Harry Henderson I see a list price in an old catalog of $26.95 Good Luck,

I can warmly recommend the book from "O'Reilly & Associates, Inc / 981 Chestnut St. / Newton, MA 02159" - it's called "Managing UUCP and Usenet - A Nutshell Handbook". The book is superb and has covered every problem I run into. It covers of course all major uucp releases such as Version 2, HDB (BNU), BSD 4.x and BSD 4.3. Hope this helps. -Axel -- Domain: fischer@netmbx.UUCP Europe: ...!tmpmbx!netmbx!fischer Rest of world: ...!uunet!pyramid!tmpmbx!netmbx!fischer =====> Beam me up, Scotty - there is no intelligent life down here ! <=====

For some more technical help, try "Managing UUCP and Usenet" by O'Reilly & Associates, A Nutshell Handbook. O'Reilly & Associates phone number is 1-800-338-NUTS. This book came to use when we got our UUNET feed and it was VERY helpful. -- * Robert J Woodhead * The true meaning of life is cunningly encrypted and * * uunet!biar!trebor * hidden somewhere in this signature... * * Biar Games, Inc. * ...no, go back and look again *
