[comp.unix.xenix] CGI problems

dmh@trochus.oz (Darren Hosking) (03/30/89)

I am having problems with CGI on 2 different machines.

	1) On a Toshiba 5100 the CGI test program runs with any device
driver (ega, cgaco, cgabw) but when it finishes (or the user
terminates it) the machine does not return to text mode (ie
you can see where the cursor is and you can enter Xenix commands
but you cant see anything). The machine has to be halted and
restarted to get back to normal.

	   What is the problem?
Which device driver is the correct one to use for a Toshiba 5100?

(BTW the work station IS being closed successfully)

	2) On a Wang PC 380 (386) the CGI test program will not produce
graphics when using ANY device driver. Xenix thinks it has an
EGA card but even the EGA driver will not work. When the
test program is run it puts characters where the graphics is
supposed to be and puts junk (dots etc) on all screens
	   (including the multiscreens).

	   What is the problem?

Also, does anyone have any CGI bitmap examples that they could send me?

Thanks in advance, dmh
