Just thought I'd pass along an experience I went through lately. I recently decided to get a VGA card, so I went shopping and found an Everex EVGA board at a good price. It wasn't on the SCO supported list, but the docs said anything that completely emulates the IBM VGA board would work, and this board said it did, so I bought it. (I have discovered that just because it's not on SCO's list doesn't mean it won't work). Well, this time SCO was right. The Everex EVGA card that I had (which the dealer said was in perfect working order) did not work correctly. Under Xenix, the right most three characters of an 80-column screen would not appear, and not all of my DOS graphics programs would work correctly. Luckily, my dealer had a Paradise VGA Plus 16 that was installed in a demo system (which I new WAS on SCO's list), so I bought the Everex under the condition I could trade it for the Paradise is the Everex didn't work. Well, the Paradise is now in my system and works great! I haven't found anything yet that doesn't work correctly on it, so I'm now an almost happy person (see earlier article about mouse woes). ------------- James B.
