[comp.unix.xenix] 3270 BSC emulation ... help needed

moll@bnu.UUCP (Wolfgang Moll) (04/14/89)

We are trying to connect an Intel SYS310 running XENIX 3.4 to our IBM
mainframe. The Intel should act as an IBM remote 3271 Cluster Controller.
This is done by an software emulation which allows the the Intel users to
run IBM 3270 sessions on 3277 displays.
The communication protocol is 3270 BSC.
The emulation is based on the VPM 188 software package (3270 BSC 188).
We are using the iSBC 188/48 communication board for the bisync communication.

Now, after installing the software we tried to connect to the host.
But nothing happend :-((

Next, we tried to analyze the protocol between the Intel and the host.

It seemed that the communication started correctly betweeen the controller
emulation and the host.
But the terminal emulation did not get started.

Maybe, something went wrong with our installation or the parameter setting
had been errorneous.

If anyone out there is still using this software please send me a response.

Any hints are welcome ...
