Is it possible to use a VGA monitor and VGA card strapped to EGA mode under XENIX 2.2.3? I've tried it and seem to get results that look as if a pointer to a character generator was off. John H. I am told that there is a disk from SCO for XENIX 386 2.2.3 that allows the use of the Paradise VGA. I have not been able to find a copy of that, and SCO doesn't support 2.2.x any longer, apparently. I did find that one could boot 2.2.4 using the Tandy Paradise-based VGA card if you did the following: 1. Boot PC-DOS 2. Run the VGA utility, setting the board to MDA and locking it in that mode 3. Running the configuration utility to set the display to MDA. 4. Boot XENIX - the system will complain that the monitor is not correctly set but XENIX didn't seem to care and the display worked. I would assume that it would be possible for something to reset the display card and for garbage to return. I understand that XENIX GT with SCSI/ESDI support is now out; update R updates 2.2.4 to 2.3.2 and costs $195. That would be the way I'm going for VGA support (I've already ordered).
