A friend has a Harris/Lanier box running Xenix v '3.0B1.7.' This appears to be an early version of SCO-XENIX circa 1984-85. The only label on the box is Harris/Lanier C4200. He has the Xenix manuals which bear SCO & Harris copywrites, but no hardware manuals. My guess is that this maybe an 8086 box and the Xenix some version 7 flavor. Does anyone in netland know anything about this beast? My friend uses and loves the little fella. He has a small service business. He asked me wether (a) any xenix upgrade is feasible and (b) the degree to which he and little orphan Annie maybe related. My initial reaction is to tell him to ____can the box, buy a 386 and start over. Any and all advice, opinion, history, or observations would be appreciated. While on the subject of old Lanier Xenix boxes - does anybody know if their word processing files can in any way be saved into dos or other xenix files? A client recently asked the question and I politely told them to start over.
