[net.unix-wizards] ARPANET problem under 4.2BSD

nunn@NBS-VMS.ARPA (09/06/84)

I recently brought up 4.2BSD on our 11/750. Everything appears to be working
fine except for our ARPANET connection. When I boot the system and try to
configure in the network interface (acc0) with /etc/ifconfig, I get
"ioctl (SIOCGIFFLAGS): no such device." Our system appears to be
configured correctly, with the INET option and pseudo devices, and the
LH/DH will function correctly under VMS. Also, the 4.2 system appears to
autoconfigure the LH/DH (acc0) during the boot with correct CSR (765600).
Has anyone encountered the same problem, and if so how was the problem
resolved?

Please respond to me directly as I am not on the INFO mailing list.

	In advance, thanks
	John Nunn <nunn @ nbs-vms>

I am not sure if this is your problem, but the software name of the acc
controller is actually 'imp0'. In my /etc/rc.local the line is:

/etc/ifconfig imp0 `hostname`
