Well, there is apperently no more need to look for an alternative,
as Olivetti and Specialix have worked out a solution.

This solution involves a replacement board, specially designed for
the Olivetti M380. So when you order a Specialix SI-8 host adaptor,
make it very clear that you will be running it on an Olivetti,
or you will get the wrong board.
