I am having a problem with 4.2bsd as distributed on my 750. Some panics result in a reserved operand fault on the REI after a hardclock interrupt as soon as it lowers its priority in boot(). Hence it panics resursively, and I don't get a dump. Has there been a posted fix? -- --Bruce Nemnich, Thinking Machines Corporation, Cambridge, MA {astrovax,cca,harvard,ihnp4,ima,mit-eddie,...}!godot!bruce, BJN@MIT-MC.ARPA

Back when we were having the "recursive panic" problem under 4.1, I hacked up the code to stay at high IPL after multiple panics. Seems to me the same should be done for 4.2. -- In-Real-Life: Chris Torek, Univ of MD Comp Sci (301) 454-7690 UUCP: {seismo,allegra,brl-bmd}!umcp-cs!chris CSNet: chris@umcp-cs ARPA: chris@maryland
