[net.unix-wizards] reserved op faults after panic

bruce@godot.UUCP (Bruce Nemnich) (09/08/84)

I am having a problem with 4.2bsd as distributed on my 750. Some panics
result in a reserved operand fault on the REI after a hardclock
interrupt as soon as it lowers its priority in boot(). Hence it panics
resursively, and I don't get a dump. Has there been a posted fix?

Back when we were having the "recursive panic" problem under 4.1, I
hacked up the code to stay at high IPL after multiple panics. Seems to
me the same should be done for 4.2.
